About Wendy Golden
Wendy has a background in artistic endeavors of all kinds. She was introduced to dance, drawing, and writing first, and then to theater by her mother, fine art by her father, crochet work by her grandmother and later photography as she continued her curiosity in the arts. She's dabbled (or more than dabbled) in everything, loving all of it.
As a small child she was drawn to color and texture. No matter where she went, she was touching everything. She loved to look but she also loved to find out how things felt and made her feel. This would ultimately play a part in her artistic expression.
She spent years trying out each medium, never feeling quite complete with any one thing. Then after years of creating wearable art scarves and separately painting with oils, she decided to combine her two loves to create something unique in fine art and her approach to mixed media was born.
Her artwork has evolved into a textural playground using oil, acrylic, ink, spray paint, found objects, metal, wire, glass, beads and her favorite, yarn. It begs to be touched and experienced with more than just the eyes.
She's continued her art adventures with texture and emotional connection in her acrylic black line paintings and photography, where she finds a wealth of content to play with.
